From about 1905 during the Arts and Crafts or Mission Oak period, this adjustable "Morris" armchair is an early recliner.
Solid quarter sawn oak has an excellent deep finish. The frame has authentic mortise and tenon joints and is tight and strong. Original iron mechanisms have finger latches under the arms to recline the back.
Comfortable cushions are newly upholstered in a pattern of the era. American made Craftsman furniture, this antique chair is unsigned.
Measurements when upright are 31 1/2" wide, 40" deep, 42" tall and the seat is 17" high.
