This 1923 grand piano is signed by famous maker, "William Knabe of Baltimore, est. 1837," and is all original. The mahogany case shows its age gracefully, there is some wear for antique character, and the deep rich finish is very well preserved for its age, see photos.
Original natural keys have minor chips, see photos. The action is smooth and easy to play on this American made musical instrument. There are minor shrinkage separations from age on the soundboard that do not affect tone or performance. The round and mellow sound is what Knabe was famous for.
The front edge of the "fall board" or key cover is missing as shown. Tuned about a year ago, this piano hold a tune well. Dimensions are 5' 9" long, 59" wide and 39" tall when closed.
The bench has music storage under the seat, which has been newly upholstered. Size is 37" long, 16" deep and 20" tall.
