An Art Deco period grandfather or long case clock from about 1915 plays the familiar "Westminster" chime tune or two other tunes as well, and is signed by famous German clockmaker, "Winterhalter." Resonant chimes sound on each quarter hour and also count the hour.
The brass movement runs a week when wound by pulling the chains. Professionally cleaned and adjusted, this timepiece from Europe keeps excellent time.
The mahogany case has an excellent finish, there is a mar at the left edge, see photos. All original, the spun silver dial has a brass rim, the pendulum and weights are brass as well. The lower glass is beveled.
This clock needs to be "set up" when delivered - weights and pendulum attached and the case leveled. Most of our customers can do this as we walk them through the fairly simple steps by phone. The process is not very difficult, and it is also nice to know how to do this again whenever the clock needs to be moved for cleaning, painting or whatever. A few customers prefer to hire a local clockmaker at their own expense to make a house-call and set up the clock, which is usually not very expensive, depending on your location.
