Made for a railroad train station or depot about 1860, this solid walnut desk was made to use standing or with a tall stool.
The finish is in excellent condition, preserving lots of stains and mars for antique character. Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and embossed cast iron pulls.
Three separate stacking sections make this desk easy to move.
American made office furniture, this desk recalls Dicken's Bob Cratchit or Bartleby the Scrivener.
Size is 61 1/2" long, 32" deep, the top is 42 1/2" tall at the front and slopes up to the back, the top of the book gallery is 47" high.
