This Hand-hammered copper sculptural baptismal font has a flip open top lined with stucco.
The glowing patina is beautiful on this burnished work of art from the 1970's. It is attributed to David W. Laughlin, who is a sculptor graduate from the University of Central Missouri in 1950. Several of his works are displayed on the campus.
This one of a kind free form sculpture is entirely hand made, with every surface curved and hand wrought on all side. Religious mottoes are visible when the heavy lid is closed. When the top is opened, the base should be anchored for stability.
Measurements of this work of art are 42" wide, 21" deep when closed and 42" tall.
