Bronze Sculpture Le Travail or Labor, 1900 Antique French Statue of a Blacksmith
A blacksmith pauses at his anvil for a moment of rest and reflection as captured in this bronze sculpture, entitled "Le Travail" or Labor from about 1900.
Signed in script on the base, "Nicoli," the artist is unknown. A warm chocolate patina is beautifully shaded on this statue. A detailed and pensive work of art is understated but somehow compelling.
Cast in France, size is 11" square at the marble base and 26" tall.
