Carved 4 Piece 1940 Vintage Bedroom Set, Full Size Bed
Signed "John M. Smythe of Chicago," this 1940 vintage carved bedroom set comprises a full size bed, double dresser with beveled mirror and two nightstands.
Walnut with gorgeous matched burl, the deep lustrous finish is in excellent condition everywhere. Gracefully curved with richly carved detailing, this American made furniture is exceptionally well crafted. Drawers have dovetailed solid oak sides and original embossed pulls.
The bed is shown with a standard full or double size mattress and innerspring unit, and includes wood slats underneath. Measurements are 57" wide, 82" long, the head board is 52" tall and the footboard is 26" high.
The chest or dresser includes a wall mirror that also has metal supports from the back of the dresser. There is some antique "smoke" on the beveled plate glass to show its age. Size is 62" wide, 24" deep and 74" tall overall.
Nightstands or bedside tables are 17" wide, 16" deep and 27" tall.
