Charles Haviland of Paris 1882 Antique Oyster Plate
A wonderful hand painted oyster plate from about 1882 is signed by one of France's most famous china makers, "CFH" for Charles Field Haviland, and also "GDM" for his successors in Paris, Gerard, Duffraisseix and Abbott.
The extended "Haviland" family was justly famous for their china from the 1800's onward. Deeply embossed and artfully painted in soft shades of gold, this antique French plate is undamaged. Size is 8 3/4" diameter.
