A lovely 1930's six panel screen is traditional "Coromandel," many layers of hand-painted colored lacquer with satiny black top layers built up, then designs are carved by hand into the colored layers below.
Both sides are serene scenes from nature in soft, delicate shades. The main side depicts an Imperial garden at a summer palace. Feet and hardware are brass. There are touch-ups and repairs at the edges to the lacquer finish, see photos.
Traditional Chinese furniture, dimensions of all six panels are 16" wide and 6' tall, so total width if stretched flat on the wall as shown is 8' 1," and partly folded as also shown, width is 7.'
