Crafted about 1885 during the late Victorian or Eastlake period, a sweet chest or commode has a "Tennessee Red" marble top and could be a vanity for a vessel sink.
Solid cherry with incised spoon or "chip" carving, the finish is in excellent condition. Rosy brass hardware is original on dovetailed drawers. The marble has been polished and sealed to resist stains on this American made antique furniture.
Size is 30" wide, 17" deep and 29" tall.
