An American Empire style sewing table or stand has a flip-open top that creates a double-size top for sewing or playing games, and has a dedication from 1909.
Mahogany with matched flame grain, the finish is excellent, with only minor mars at the edges. There is storage behind the upper false drawer that is reached when the top is swiveled, the two lower drawers have dovetail and dividers for needlework supplies.
The graceful pedestal is sturdy, and this charming furniture was made in the eastern U.S. Dimensions of this lovely antique are 23" wide, 16" deep and 28" tall, when the top is open, size is 31" x 23."
