About 30 years old, this solid mahogany desk is signed by famous maker, "KIttinger of Buffalo, NY."
This style of desk was called a "George Washington" desk after the original, now in the New York City Hall. Franklin Roosevelt also had a Kittinger replica like this as president.
The gleaming restored finish is in excellent condition. Heavy brass pulls are original on this vintage furniture, there are letter or document shelves at the ends with dovetailed joints.
Drawers have solid oak dovetailed sides. There is a pull out writing shelf in the right drawer. Delicate legs are reeded and have replaced feet on this sophisticated American made vintage library furniture. Sides and back have false drawers with pulls.
Size is 6' long, 3' deep, 36" tall, the writing surface is 30 1/2" high and the knee hole is 29" wide and just over 24" high.
