A long case or grandfather clock was made in Germany about 1910. The brass movement was professionally cleaned and oiled and keeps excellent time for a week on a chain winding. A deep resonant two chord chime counts the hour and half on a five note chime bar. Original brass weights and pendulum are embossed.
The oak case has walnut burl banding and has an excellent renewed finish. The only signature we find on this antique clock is "F. R. Haizmann" on the door latches. Lower glass is beveled, the dial glass is convex.
Measurements are 24 1/2" wide, 11" deep and 76" tall.
This clock needs to be "set up" when delivered - weights and pendulum attached and the case leveled. Most of our customers can do this as we walk them through the fairly simple steps by phone. The process is not very difficult, and it is also nice to know how to do this again whenever the clock needs to be moved for cleaning, painting or whatever. A few customers prefer to hire a local clockmaker at their own expense to make a house-call and set up the clock, which is usually not very expensive, depending on your location.
