Monumental Mahogany Fireplace Mantel & Surround

Architectural salvage from a Chicago North Shore mansion, a monumental 1900 era fireplace mantel and surround is solid mahogany.

The lustrous finish is excellent with a few mars at the edges for antique character. There is "smoke" from age in the original plate glass mirror, it could be resilvered or replaced if desired.

Finely carved moldings are distinguished on this classical mantel, it is two separate pieces for easier handling.

Overall size is 7' 8" wide, 22" deep and 86" tall, the mantel shelf is 56" high and the the fire opening is 62" wide and 42" tall.
