Musical Angel Antique Painting After Fra Angelico, Italy, Gold Leaf Frame #29282

This oil painting on board with a genuine gold leaf background and frame was hand painted after the 1400's Renaissance original by the famed Italian artist, Fra Angelico. Purchased on a "Grand Tour" of Europe, this lovely work of art from around 1875 was a souvenir of Florence, where it was painted in tempera on a board.

The musician angel has an embossed halo and is playing a brass instrument. The richly carved and detailed frame with spiral columns shows the transition from Gothic to Renaissance of the 1400's. There is minor wear to this painting, see photos.

Size is 8" wide, 20 1/2" tall and 2 1/2" deep.
