Northwind Pressback Carved Oak Armchair
A quarter-sawn oak armchair has a "Northwind" carved "pressback" motif. Graceful "arrowback" spindles and the shaped seat is striking. The rich brown finish is very fine on this strong and very usable chair. There are small irregularities and shrinkage separations from age in the seat, see photos.
A large and comfortable American antique from about 1895, this chair measures 23" wide, 23" deep, 39" tall and the seat is 18" high.
