Called a "handkerchief" game table because the four corners of the top open like a folded handkerchief, this lovely rosewood furniture from about 1890 has intricate inlaid marquetry and banding.
The original finish has warm antique patina plus enough mars and wear for a little character, see photos. A drawer for game pieces and cards has tiny hand cut dovetails and original brasses. The top spins to open, and the center is lined with black wool felt.
Exquisitely crafted in England, this is a jewel of an antique. Size closed is 24" square and 28" tall, when open, it is 33" square.
