Crafted of solid walnut about 1885 in the late Victorian or Eastlake period, a highboy or tall chest of drawers has a superb finish.
Accented with burl panels, there are six drawers with round "pin and cove" dovetails of the period. From the days when every well dressed man or woman work a hat, the "hatbox" has a raised panel door.
Embossed brass pulls are original on this functional and beautiful American made furniture. There are tiny mars and shrinkage separations from age, see photos.
Sides of this antique are paneled, measurements are 36" wide, 21" deep and 53" tall.
