Said to be from Pennsylvania, this solid cherry corner cabinet from the 1840's is entirely hand crafted. The old finish is very well preserved and has been waxed, needing only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth to maintain its warm patina. There are small mars and wear at the edges.
Square nails, reversed raised panels, hand planing marks and the hand cut dovetails in the drawer all show the expert work of a skilled cabinetmaker. Delicate inlaid stringing or banding adds a touch of sophistication to this country furniture. There is a small warp to the left door and locks are missing, see photos.
Dimensions are 52" across the tips of the crown, 7' 3 1/2" tall and the radius or side is 36" from the back corner to the front tip of the crown molding.
