A spectacular pair of English sterling silver sauce or gravy ladles in the fiddle, thread and shell pattern was sold by Marshall Field & Co of Chicago about 60 years ago and attributed to "Wm. Chawner, London," circa 1821.
Bearing an old family crest, these 7" long hand made antique ladles weigh approx. 5 troy ounces together.
