A splendid 1920's era sideboard, server or console was richly carved in the Renaissance manner. Often called a "hunt board," this piece was used to set up a late supper of cold meats and cheese after hunting.
The deep restored finish on walnut is in excellent condition. There is genuine rosewood banding and inlaid burl and marquetry panels, hardware is original, and the drawer has dovetailed joints.
There is a maker's signature by famous maker, "Rockford of Rockford, Ill." There are minor losses at the edges, see photos. Size is 48" long, 21" deep and 33 1/2" tall. Fully carved back legs keep the top about 1 1/4" from the wall.
