A classical Victorian period mantel clock from about 1890 has a cast iron case with incised gold decoration, signed by famous maker, "Ansonia of New York." There are a few mars and wear to the original paint.
The brass movement has been professionally cleaned and keeps accurate time for a week on a winding. A soft gong counts the hour and rings on the half hour. The porcelain dial has cracks near the winding holes, see photos. A brass bezel door has beveled glass on this American made antique timepiece.
