New England Antique Mule or Blanket Chest, 1830
Simple Yankee New England design dating from about 1830, this large blanket or dowry chest was often called a "mule" chest. The top lifts for storage and the finish is very fine. Drawers have been rebuilt and the lock is incomplete. See photos of shrinkage or separation cracks.
Size of this picturesque hand made American antique is 4' long, 2' deep and 41 1/2" tall.
