A charming late Victorian or Eastlake 1880's period writing desk has lower bookshelves.
The top has been restored for durability, the base is solid walnut with an original finish that is very well preserved with a few mars for antique character.
Waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm patina. Incised carving and burl panels are authentic, drawers have hand cut dovetail joints on this American made furniture.
Size is 44" wide, 26" deep, 30" tall and the kneehole is about 24" high and 18" wide.
