A Victorian period secretary desk has a cylinder or barrel roll top and was made about 1880. Solid walnut is accented with burl panels and has an excellent satiny finish.
There is a shrinkage separation from age in the top, see photos. The pull out writing surface has a leather panel. Inside are cubicles and a small drawer. Lower drawers have original embossed rosy brass pulls with cat faces and round "pin and cove" joints, characteristic of the era.
Measurements are 40" wide, 21" deep, 50" tall and the desktop is 29" high.
