A genuine bronze statue depicts "Orlando," Italian for Roland, who is the hero of the French epic, "La Chanson de Roland," The Song of Roland, written about 1100 about the days of Charlemagne.
About 25 years old, this large sculpture is richly detailed and has a deep chocolate patina. The fabled warrior carries a sword and a book engraved, "Orlando," his story is the oldest surviving literature in French.
There is no signature or foundry mark that we could find.
Size of this vintage work of art is 18" across, the base is 15" diameter and height is 44."
