Chien Policier, Police Dog Bronze Sculpture, Signed Chiparus #30448
This bronze sculpture is titled "Chien Policier," or Police Dog, by "D. H. Chiparus," whose name is also carved on the marble base.
Demétre Haralamb Chiparus, 1886-1947, was a Romanian Art Deco era sculptor who lived and worked in Paris, France. He was one of the most important sculptors of the Art Deco era.
The finely detail statue has rich dark patina. Age of this work of art is uncertain, probably 50-75 years.
Measurements are 14" x 4 1/2" and 11" tall.
