Chinese Hand Painted Inscription Antique 1900's Hand Hewn Pine Trunk or Chest

Hand hewn and planed in China in the early 1900's, this chest or trunk is hand painted with Chinese characters.

Corners have hand cut dovetail joints and carved wooden pegs instead of nails. Hardware is wrought iron and there is a brass "padlock." There are losses and wear at the edges, see photos.

This pine antique furniture has a fine old finish with warm antique patina, waxed and buffed so all that is needed is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. The interior is papered.
