A cast iron wood stove is signed "The Darby by The Coalbrookdale Co., A. D. 1980, Shropshire," of England. There is a plaque at the end that describes this famous company as the maker of the world's first cast iron bridge in 1779.
This stove appears to have never been used, and the natural gray iron finish is beautiful. Doors have tempered glass windows. The filigree lid lifts to a surface for cooking or a tea kettle. An iron handle operates the grill shaker, which drops ashes into a collector pan below.
This stove weighs 531 lbs, so there must be extra help for delivery.
Size is 32" wide, 17" deep and 29" tall.
