A magnificent "cabinet of curiosities" or collector's curio display cabinet was hand carved for a family in Ireland.
- Antique Victorian period furniture masterfully created in Ireland about 1870
- Beautifully hand carved walnut & curly or "tiger" maple
- Top surface has been refinished for durability. The rest of the original finish is accented with worn genuine gold leaf and has been cleaned and preserved with a coat of clear finish. Minor dings, mars, losses, & shrinkage separations - see photos
- Upper niche for display
- Embossed brass hardware is original
- Drawers have solid mahogany sides with hand cut dovetail joints
- No keys
- Original beveled mirrors have "smoke" and minor scratching - see photos
- Removable wood & glass shelving
- Side niches have original velvet plus later removable velvet bottoms
- Disassembles into three pieces for delivery
- Engraved brass presentation plaque was removed but is included, recording a family gift to the Church and Monastery of Mount Agnes for the benefit of St. Gladys Nursing Home, downtown Dublin, in 1971
- Will need additional help from homeowners at delivery to set up (2-3 people)
Size is 68.5" wide, 27.5" deep, and 130.5" tall. The two lower sections without the crown are 96" tall together.
