Country Carved Bread Dough Bowl or Proofing Trough
The marks of laborious hand-carving are visible on this country bread bowl or proofing trough, hand hewn from a single maple log. There is lots of patina - stains and mars on this American primitive antique from about 1870.
This was used to hold a mass of bread dough for while rising and kneading. Size of this charming nostalgic Americana is 47" long, 17" wide and 7" tall.
