Hand-made of solid chestnut hardwood in the early 1900's, the finish is excellent. Superior old-fashioned construction details include pegged panels on the backside, and a hand dovetailed drawer.
Brittany or Bretagne is a maritime province of northwest France. Formerly a separate country, the "Breton" language is still spoken. Famous for their cultural traditions and distinctive dress, the local hand-carved furniture has outstanding workmanship, using native local hardwoods with picturesque traditional motifs.
This antique armoire disassembles for moving, and measures 4'8" wide, 23" deep and 7'4 1/2" tall.
