French Panetiere Carved Oak 1880 Antique Bread & Plate Rack

A genuine "Panetiere," or wall or counter - top rack for fresh French bread dates from about 1880. Hand carved of solid oak, artistic carvings include wheat and scythe motifs.

The original finish is very well preserved and has been waxed and buffed so all that is needed to maintain its warm luster is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.

Upper galleries can hold plates. This antique furniture from France can stand on a counter and also has iron hooks for wall hanging.

Measurements are 27 1/2" wide, 14" deep and 42" tall.
