Hand crafted about 1870 in the Eastern U.S., this hall or "deacon's" bench may have been used in a church, lodge, barbershop or train depot.
Solid maple and poplar, this strong and sturdy furniture has an excellent satiny finish. There are shrinkage separations from age for antique character. Gracefully tapered spindles are hand turned on this picturesque bench.
Size is 78" long, 18" deep, 32 1/2" tall and the seat is 18" high.
