Entirely covered in saddle leather with brass nailhead trim, this 1900 era armchair is in the famous "Savonarola" design. The seat itself appears to have been reupholstered later, see photos.
Said to have been brought from England, we cannot be certain as the chair is unsigned. Strong and tight furniture, the graceful frame is completely upholstered.
The leather has great antique patina and enough wear for a little character - the firm seat suggest this marvelous chair was used at a desk.
Size is 24" wide, 25" deep, 35" tall and the seat is 18" high.
