Made for a Michigan butcher shop around 1900, an octagonal chopping block is solid hard maple. It would be exceptional as a kitchen island or wine tasting table.
Well worn from over a century's use, there are numerous losses and patches, it has been preserved with a fine finish on the sides and legs, see photos.
The top has a food safe oil finish. Round blocks covering the iron bolts are replacements on this American made antique store furniture.
Size is 40" across and 34" tall.
