A mechanical, crank-operated "Concert Roller Organ" was sometimes called a "cob" organ, because the rollers for each song resembled corn cobs.
In excellent working condition, the oak case has its original stenciling. The crank operates a bellows, playing through brass reeds, like a pump organ of the same era, about 1880. This charming table-top mechanical instrument is a nostalgic survivor of a bygone era.
Included are 15 rolls with tunes of the era, including "Home, Sweet Home, " and "Marching Through Georgia." Also included is the auction report from some decades ago when this antique organ was purchased for $1400, plus 13 rolls separately for $400. The dimensions are 15" deep by 12 1/2" high, and 18" wide.
