Monitor Cherry Georgian Block Front 1930's Secretary Desk
Signed by "Monitor of Jamestown, NY." in the 1930's, a solid cherry secretary desk has classic Georgian "block front" design.
Construction is superior everywhere - drawers have solid oak dovetailed sides and feet are traditional carved ball and claw motif.
When the drop front is opened, supports extend automatically. There is an old repair on the corner, see photos. Inside are tiny drawers, cubicles and "secret" compartments. Hardware is original and the lock and key work.
Measurements of this elegantly understated vintage furniture are 36" wide, 21" deep and 41" tall, the writing surface is 30" high.
