Sometimes called a "captain's" chair, this comfortable oak armchair was made about 1895 for a Wisconsin fire house. Large and comfortable, the tight and solid oak frame once tilted, but the springs are gone and the chair is now fixed in position.
The finish is very good with enough wear and mars for a little character, see photos. A hand caned seat is comfortable, and cool in the summer, it is supple and strong.
American made antique furniture, dimensions are 22" wide, 23" deep, 36" tall and the seat is 17" high.
