A pair of carved solid cherrywood throne, hall or dining chairs dates from the late Victorian period, about 1900.
The finish is very fine with warm antique patina, old velvety velour upholstery is serviceable but shows wear. Springs are comfortable and frames are strong on this antique American furniture.
Crafted for a Chicago fraternal lodge, the shell crest is especially beautiful. There is an old chip on the back bottom foot and a hole in the backside of the upholstery, see photos.
Dimensions are 28" wide, 28" deep, 59" tall and seats are 20" high.
