A pair of exquisitely carved mahogany "acorn" poster beds from the 1920's is signed "Pollack Bros. Colonial Reproductions, Boston, Mass."
The original finish has warm antique patina and there are mars at the edges for "character," see photos. Waxed and polished, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain the beautiful luster.
Feather and acorn carving on the posts is charming, swivel covers hide original bolts connecting the frames. Pallets or "bunky boards" are furnished and covered with fabric to use under standard twin or single size mattresses as shown. Alternatively, a traditional innerspring unit can be used under the mattress if desired, but the height may be excessive. Mattresses in photos are 9" thick.
Dimensions of this American crafted furniture are 82" long, 40" wide, headboards are 50" tall and footboards are 45" high.
