Made for a watch maker or clock repair person about 1900, a 16 drawer work bench is solid birch hardwood. The finish is excellent, there are numerous mars, losses and worn areas from long use.
A "parts catcher" pulls out in the center, designed to capture falling screws or springs. A gallery on three sides also helped contain wayward parts. One drawer is rebuilt, all have old iron pulls. There are no keys for the locks.
American made, this antique furniture dates from an era when clocks and watches were intended to be repaired and kept for a lifetime. Meant for working at stool height, size is 38" wide, 19" deep and 37" tall.
