A combination thermometer and "stick" barometer is signed "Charles Wilder, Peterboro, NH," and "Woodruff's Pat. June 5, 1860." The mahogany case has an original finish with warm patina and some crazing for character.
An adjustable sliding marker records the barometric pressure. There is some discoloration on the bottom right engraved dial, see photos. The thermometer appears to work accurately.
On the back, screws secure a wooden cover to the glass tube. This antique American made scientific weather instrument cannot be shipped by the Post Office, Fed Ex, UPS, etc. and must be picked up at our gallery or other arrangements made.
Size of this historic antique is 38" tall and 5" wide.
