Carved Bookcase, Wrought Iron Grillwork

Carved of fruitwood about 1910, an imposing bookcase has four doors with wrought iron grillwork over glass. Classical motifs were expertly hand-carved in northern Italy.

The original finish has warm antique patina, it has been polished and is in very fine condition with only minor mars, see photos. Locks are operational, wrought hardware is also original. There are two separate banks of shelves. Deep moldings give an architectural feeling to this substantial antique, which can be disassembled for moving.

Dimensions of this stately library furniture are 7' 8" wide, 20" deep and 6' 6" tall.
