Carved Lion Head 1895 Fireplace Mantel & Surround

Carved of walnut about 1895, a wonderful fireplace mantel and surround has a lion head and fluted columns. The finish has later varnish and is in very fine condition with minor mars at the edges.

Built for a Chicago mansion, this American made architectural salvage mantel has exquisite hand carved detailing.

Measurements are 53" wide, 15" deep, and 55" tall. The fire opening is 7 1/2" from the back, 28" wide and 40" tall.
