Cassone or Italian Dowry Chest, Carved Lion Paws
Hand carved about 1900, this wonderful Cassone, or traditional Italian dowry chest has lion paw feet. The lid lifts to store a young woman's dowry of linens, silver and treasures.
The lustrous finish is excellent on birch and walnut with deep moldings and graceful scrollwork.
Dimensions of this historic antique furniture are 4'9" long, 19" deep and 20" tall.
