Signed by famous high end maker, "Colby of Chicago," this outstanding breakfront china cabinet or bookcase has a pull out desk. Superior quality vintage furniture from about 1950, the original finish is very fine on inlaid marquetry, all banded in satinwood.
Waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its luster and warm patina. There are a few mars at the edges, see photos. Upper glass panes are convex or "bubble" glass, shelves inside have grooves for plate display.
Locks and key work in the doors. In the center is a pull out desk with a gold tooled leather writing surface plus tiny drawers and compartments fronted in burl wood.
The upper section of this marvelous traditional cabinet is separate for easier moving, size is 6' wide, 16" deep and 7' tall.
