Purchased at Sotheby's in New York about ten years ago, this remarkable Baroque design mirror was never uncrated.
Hand made about 25 years ago with angel, flower and bird motifs, this hand painted work of art is unsigned, but said to be Dresden porcelain from Germany. There are losses to the flower petals in various places, plus cracks to the upper right hand corner, see photos. There was a separation to the top edge that has been given an epoxy repair that is stable, there is a hairline crack on the right edges as shown.
Four main sections of porcelain with 18th Century designs are mounted to a Corian type material backing.
Measurements of this palatial mirror are 29" wide, 52" tall and projection is 7" from the wall. The wood shipping crate is 37" wide, 58" tall and 11" deep.
