Hand made of solid mahogany in the late 1700's, this classic Georgian or Chippendale tea table has a late 1800's top. It was called a "tilt-top" so it could be be stored in a corner when not needed.
The top is beautifully figured, carved with its pie-crust molding from a single plank of mahogany. The finish is excellent. There are mars and wear for a little character to the carved claw and ball foot base. There are also small shrinkage separations from age, see photos.
Expertly hand crafted in England, this elegant and clean-lined antique furniture measures 32" in diameter and 30" tall, when tilted up, height is 44" total.
