Made for a machinist about 1910, a solid quarter sawn oak tool chest could hold jewelry or any collection of smaller things.
Signed on an engraved plate and on the latch, "H. Gerstner & Sons, Dayton, Ohio," there is a perceptible oily scent left from the machinist's tools.
The finish is in very good condition, the lid lifts and there is a drop front with raised panel covering eleven tiny drawers inside.
The interiors of this American made antique are lined with felt, and size is 20" wide, 10" deep and 16" tall.
